Now that the weather is cooling down, we are really enjoying being outside on our patio. You may remember that we completely transformed this space with Serena & Lily earlier this year, and it has been an incredible transformation. On Wednesday, as I was setting up for an al fresco Thanksgiving, we snapped some pictures of the tablescape and sitting area. Come along today as we review the outdoor pieces that we have been using and loving, which are all currently 25% off today and tomorrow thanks to their Event of the Year!
Having an outdoor dining space has doubled our ability to entertain guests. Both my husband and I’s families are native Floridians and all live here, so when we have both sides over, we now have plenty of room for everyone to sit. The only problem is, everyone wants to be outside because this space is so heavenly! Beth and I’s brother nicknamed it “Via Norcross” at Thanksgiving, and it’s so true because it feels like a lush via off Worth Avenue. So, while great outdoor furniture can be pricey, I would say it is most important to invest in beautiful, quality furniture that lasts and feels just as luxurious as the inside of your home.
To create this look, I chose the Terrace Dining Table, Pacifica Dining Chairs and Sunbrella Lido Pillows in Coastal Blue. The Terrace Dining Table is solid as a rock and quite spacious. It is the perfect foundation for creating any outdoor space and can take on many different personalities based on the chairs you place around it. It is no secret that we are big rattan and wicker lovers here in Florida, so I chose the Pacifica Dining Chairs in Light Dune with white cushions. They are made with an outdoor-friendly material that stands up to weather and can be easily cleaned by squirting them down with a hose. That is my favorite feature about them, in addition to the plush cushions making them extremely comfortable!
I would also like to mention that I would not leave any of the white cushions in the open outdoors year-round. We have been bringing the cushions inside when it rains and will probably get furniture covers soon. The cushions come out sparkling white when cleaned, but to extend their beauty and life, it would be best to protect them when not using them.
I also love that Serena & Lily offers throw pillows and tabletop pieces that compliment their outdoor furniture. Their Salento Linen Napkins in Coastal Blue are a serene pastel blue and can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. For Thanksgiving, I paired the light blue dinner napkins with woven textures from their Kokkari Placemats, Cayman Seagrass-Wrapped Pitcher and Glasses and Catalonia Coasters. I also love how the blue Sunbrella Lido Pillows look on the end chairs of the dining table. They add extra support should someone need it, plus they add a touch of color to an otherwise neutral palette.
These pieces compliment my Juliska Country Plate Dinnerware and Le Panier Dinnerware Collections. I also added a Floral Ginger Jar from Lo Home and green and white floral arrangements in Island Wrapped Glass Hurricane Vases by Amanda Lindroth. If it feels a bit summery, it is because Florida life is an endless summer lol. We soak in year-round sunshine, beach visits and fresh, garden flowers, so I am very much inspired to use these elements in our designs even well into the fall and winter. To bring in the change of seasons, we serve seasonal foods, like having a yummy Thanksgiving dinner out here.
Another great thing about having an outdoor space is that people of all ages really enjoy it. It is not too precious to have the kids all over the furniture, yet it is very comfortable for the adults to sit around and talk. There is nothing better than bringing together your family and friends with good food and fresh air, and we felt very grateful to spend time together.
In the sitting area, I continued the outdoor rattan furniture with the matching Pacifica Sofa and Lounge Chair. I was drawn to this collection by the clean lines and comfortable cushions, which have exceeded our expectations. On the sofa, I added a collection of playful pillows in blues and whites like the Beach Stripe Pillow Cover, Sunbrella Veracruz Pillow Cover, Perennials Rosemount Pillow Cover, and the Salerno Pillow Cover.
I also anchored the space with the Anacapa Rectangular Coffee Table in the charming white lattice pattern, a pair of Kent Lanterns and a Suffolk Tray. The oversized tray is a wonderful place to gather appetizers and refreshments for guests to graze on. For Thanksgiving, as usual we paired a Charcuterie Board and Goat Cheese Stuffed Bacon Wrapped Dates with Rosemary Honey with wine for the adults and apple cider for the kids. Then for dinner, my husband fried two turkeys with mashed potatoes and gravy, our mom made her yummy stuffing, my in-laws made green beans and sweet potatoes, and I made rolls, a salad and fresh cranberries. Everything came out delicious, and we ate the leftovers for days!
As we get into the holidays, we also wanted to share the pretty dresses we wore from a lovely boutique called JessaKae. Beth and I and our daughters wore matching dresses from her gingham collection <women / girls> and floral collection <women / girls>. They were dressy yet comfortable and easy to wear while cooking, playing and being outside!
If you have any questions at all about the outdoor furniture, please don’t hesitate to ask. This is just one collection we love from Serena & Lily, and they have many other looks to choose from. But if you are looking for a relaxed coastal vibe that can be casual or dressy, I highly suggest their Outdoor Pacifica Collection! And don’t miss the chance today and tomorrow to score these pieces at 25% off thanks to their Event of the Year!
