Beth and I love, love, LOVE spending time at The Breakers in Palm Beach. We are very lucky to live so close to this world-class hotel and really do our best to soak it in whenever possible. As you can see from our recent sister vacation {aka “sistercation”}, the property is insanely gorgeous and the perfect combination of over-the-top-glam and beach vibes. We can’t wait to take you on a tour of our favorite parts of the hotel, so if you’d like to hear more, let’s go!
First up is the hotel lobby. We love that The Breakers’ lobby is timeless, traditional and extravagant. It makes guests like us feel so special and dare we say, like island royalty. After checking in, we suggest beelining to the beach and/or one of the four pools because that’s our FAVORITE part of the hotel. On the way, don’t miss all the magnificent palm trees that are truly special to Palm Beach and this property!
The beach at The Breakers was recently revamped and is absolutely stunning. The fresh new boardwalk makes it easy to walk through the white sand to the lounge chairs shaded with colorful striped umbrellas. If you happen to know and love Gray Malin’s beach photos from around the world, this beach area feels just like that. Once settled, we recommend buying the super delicious and refreshing coconut drinks that are well worth the price tag.
After the beach, we wanted to cool off and freshen up, so we headed up to our hotel room. The classic style and blue and white color palette felt very calming, peaceful and… hello lover, it really accentuated the sparkling ocean view. We had to step out onto the balcony to take a closer look. On this particular day, the sun was perfectly glistening on the water and the sky and ocean were the most beautiful shades of blue.
Everyone knows girls love to shop, so the next stop on our sistercation had to be the luxury stores. Of course our favorite shop is the famous Lilly Pulitzer boutique that is full of bright, colorful and chic Palm Beach resortwear. Our outfits happen to be from their latest collection – when in Rome – so we blended in perfectly. Then we grabbed a light bite at the nearby cafe and relaxed in the courtyard before playing around on the croquet lawn.
The final stop on our tour of The Breakers is the Flagler Steakhouse. It was recently re-imagined by the same designer behind their uber hotspot HMF and features mouthwatering steaks, seafood and cocktails. We love the interior of the restaurant, as well as dining on the terrace that overlooks the golf course.
So, there you have our current favorite spots at The Breakers! But don’t just take our word for it. You have to come experience the property and amenities for yourself. It’s undeniably a very special and unique resort! And we hear they have lots in store in the near future, like their new Flagler Club opening in October 2015 and a total spa makeover coming soon! Stay tuned! xo
